Ancestral Practices for Birthworkers

Remembering the Medicine of Your Ancestors

This workshop goes beyond typical continuing education. This is about remembering the ancestral practices that protect your energy and deepen your work.

Join us for an in-person experience that explores the spiritual and energetic foundations that make birthwork sustainable, sacred, and powerful. This is for birthworkers seeking deeper ancestral relationship, clarity, and embodied practice in a community setting.

Who This Workshop Is For

The diverse community of birthworkers that includes:

Midwives, Doulas, Birth Keepers, Doctors, Nurses, Lactation Consultants, Therapists, Bodyworkers, etc.

This is for you if:

  • You know there's more to birth support than technique

  • You're tired of carrying energy that isn't yours

  • You feel the spiritual weight of your birthwork

  • You're ready to work with intuition and ancestral wisdom

  • You honor the sacred alongside the physical

  • You want to stop absorbing what isn't yours to carry

This may not be for you if:

  • You are unwilling or uncomfortable engaging with ancestral or spiritual frameworks

  • You are seeking clinical, therapeutic, or crisis-level care

  • You are feeling emotionally ungrounded or unsafe in group spaces

  • You're looking for skills-only or certification-based training

This work requires vulnerability, self-inquiry, and the ability to engage respectfully in a confidential, community-held environment. This experience is best suited for those actively engaged in birthwork or perinatal care who can engage with ancestral practices thoughtfully and with cultural sensitivity and awareness.

What You'll Experience

Day 1: Foundation & Ancestral Reconnection

  • How to work with your ancestors in safe and sacred ways

  • Building your ancestor altar

  • How to call on your ancestors for wisdom, protection, and spiritual support in your work

  • Understanding how ancestral healing informs the birthing portal

  • Protecting your energy as a birthworker

Traditional Ancestral Mediumship Ceremony:

Day 1 concludes with a Traditional Ancestral Mediumship Ceremony - a direct, embodied experience with ancestral practice. This ceremony moves beyond conceptual learning and allows you to experience what ancestral work truly means through somatic practice.

Day 2: Integration & Advanced Learning (Optional)

Day 2 is designed for deeper integration and follow-up to what you learned and experienced during the ancestral ceremony.

Because you'll have direct experience with traditional ancestral practice from Day 1, we can go further on Day 2. This session allows space for processing, questions, and advanced learning that builds on the foundation and ceremony from Day 1.

Who Day 2 is best for:

Those who resonate deeply with ancestral and cultural practices. Those interested in healing lineages and working more deeply with the wisdom their ancestors have passed onto them. Those who hear the soft whisper or feel the strong push that this is just the beginning and more is being asked for.

Note: Day 2 requires Day 1 attendance. Sequential participation is mandatory.

This immersive weekend is designed for your personal spiritual development and protection as a birthworker. The ancestral practices and sacred tools shared are for your own growth and grounding — not for teaching to clients or incorporating into your professional services without proper traditional training and cultural authorization.

Equity Access Pricing Program

Our Commitment to Accessible Healing

(Limited capacity of 24 participants)

Ancestral medicine belongs to the people. Our pricing reflects our belief that healing, liberation, and divine alignment shouldn't be determined by income.

We are offering this workshop on a Equity Access Pricing Program rooted in community care and reciprocity. This is a self-determined pricing model and no one will be asked to verify income or explain their choice. Please choose the rate that honestly reflects your current financial reality of income, access to resources, and capacity to invest. We trust you to know what's right for you.

If you can contribute more, you're directly making space for community members who need support. If you need the community rate, it's here for you — made possible by others who came before you.

All participants receive the same experience, teachings, and materials, regardless of the rate.

To learn more on how this model addresses economic justice and regenerative distribution, please visit Alexis J. Cunningfolk's website. Additionally, Britt Hawthorne of Embracing Equity offers expanded insight to this model.

Redistribution / Solidarity Rate

This rate is for those with financial abundance — steady income, savings, family wealth, or disposable resources.

When you choose a redistribution rate, you're not just paying for a service. You're investing in a healing ecosystem where ancestral practices remain accessible across economic differences. Your contribution redistributes wealth toward healing, liberation, and the birthworkers doing sacred work in under-resourced communities.

This approach allows contributors to actively participate in economic redistribution - recognizing that resources flow most powerfully when they circulate through community rather than accumulate at the top, and creating direct access for those experiencing systemic inequities or economic hardship. This is community care in action — your resources circulate through our healing community, ensuring ancestral wisdom reaches those who need it most.

If you've been looking for a trustworthy way to support social justice with your resources, this is it — direct, transparent funding that goes straight to birthworkers facing financial barriers.

  • This rate is for me if…

    • I am employed with financial stability and have disposable income

      • I own property or rent a higher-end property

      • I have investments, retirement accounts, family wealth and resources

      • I can make this investment without financial stress or sacrifice

      • I want to actively support community members who need lower rates

      • I am comfortably able to meet all of my basic* needs, even if I may have some debt

      • I own or lease a car

      • I do not need to work to meet my needs

      • I have regular access to health care

      • I have access to financial savings

      • I have an expendable** income

      • I can afford an annual vacation or take time off

      • I travel for recreation

      • I work part time or am unemployed by choice

      • I have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education (or gender and racial privilege, class background, etc.)

      * Basic Needs include food, housing, health care, and transportation.

** Expendable Income might mean you are able to buy coffee or tea at a shop, go to the movies or a concert, buy new clothes, books, and similar items each month, etc.
